Trial By Jury
Welcome ...
As part of our HND course at Stevenson College, Edinburgh, we are delighted to present to you our performance of the award winning Gilbert & Sullivan production of Trial by Jury !

How the project and show came about?
As part of our HND, we have a project realisation unit in which we are set the task of organising an event of some sort whether that be a recording of a cd, building a website for a band or putting on a concert.
As the production team came together we had several ideas about what we wanted to do for our project. Primarily we thought about recording several ensembles and vocalists in the college with the goal of producing a CD for sale.
However, one afternoon after a chat with Senior Lecturer Hilary Saunders, Rhoda Welsh approached Kate Russell and Clare Thomson and said, “I have an idea!” She explained that Hilary had suggested the possibility of doing a small show.
Trial by Jury by Gilbert and Sullivan was an operetta that Hilary had always wanted to be involved in before her retirement and she assured us that the operetta was incredibly comic, charming and possessed great wit.
As we began our research we all fell in love with the witty lyrics of William Gilbert and the musical genius that is Arthur Sullivan.

Fund Raising To make our event possible, we have had to raise funds! We have had some fantastic fund raising events from live performance to dressing up days and sponsored events. But to really make our show a success, we need YOUR help.
